America's heroes deserve the best services that state and local government can provide.

Supported legislative efforts to set aside a day of recognition for veterans who survived the notorious Bataan Death March of World War II and a memoriam for those who did not survive.

Measures supported, authored or opposed by Assemblyman Chen include:

Coauthored legislation to award in-state tuition fees to students who are natural or adopted children, stepchildren, or a spouse of a member of the Armed Forces of the United States (AB 172).

Supported legislation requiring the State Bar of California to provide pro bono civil legal assistance to veterans and their families who otherwise cannot afford legal services. (AB 360).
