Raybould: Sen. Deb Fischer Lacks the Spine to Stand up For Women

Statement

The following is the statement of U.S. Senate Candidate Jane Raybould with regards to Sen. Deb Fischer's continued support for Judge Kavanaugh's nomination to the United States Supreme Court after a rushed, politicized FBI investigation:

"Senator Fischer's blind party loyalty is precisely what's wrong with Washington today. Despite questions about Judge Kavanaugh's temperament and partisanship, legitimate concerns about how his votes on the Supreme Court will affect future generations of women, and allegations of sexual assault, Sen. Fischer sided with her party, never once pausing to consider the evidence or its ramifications.

"Sen. Fischer has shown she has no spine when it comes to standing up for the women of Nebraska. Nebraskans deserve better than Deb Fischer. They deserve a Senator committed to fighting for us today and for future generations. They deserve a Senator with the courage to stand up for what's right. That's why I'll be standing with them on Saturday morning at the Rally for Nebraska's Women in Omaha to send a message to Washington that the women of this great state want leaders who are willing to put their country over their party."
