Issue Position

Larry Strickland received the highest grade of any candidate in the race by the NRA in 2014. As your State Representative, Larry will fight for our 2nd Amendment gun rights. The Second Amendment protects the right of the people to keep and bear arms for defense of life and liberty. Self-defense is a fundamental right, and the right to use firearms for self-defense is recognized by the Constitution of the United States, the constitutions of 44 states, the laws of all states, and the common law. In District of Columbia v. Heller (2008), the Supreme Court ruled that the Second Amendment protects "the individual right to possess and carry weapons in case of confrontation."
