Trump Decision to Expand Offshore Drilling

Statement

"The Trump administration is making plans to roll back the ban on new offshore drilling sites. Along with opening up the Atlantic coastal waters for oil companies to set up rigs, the proposal will also allow for 12 more rigs to be opened in the Gulf of Mexico. To add insult to injury, his administration has rolled back regulations and safety protocols that were put in place on the oil drilling industry after the 2010 Deepwater Horizon catastrophe. How quickly we have forgotten that crisis, that not only drained our economy but killed hundreds of marine animals. This is a mistake, it's bad policy, and it is detrimental to the entire Mississippi Gulf Coast."
