Governor Eric J. Holcomb offered the following statement regarding the passage of SEA 139, which requires county coroners to take specific actions to ensure accurate data collection and reporting on drug overdose deaths:

"We need to attack the opioid epidemic as aggressively as it's attacking our Hoosier communities, but to do that we need accurate information on drug overdose deaths. This bill will dramatically improve the data we have and help us make more informed decisions. I thank Indiana lawmakers for their work and support to get it to my desk."
