Garrett Statement on Suspected Terrorist Attack in New York

Statement

Date: Oct. 31, 2017
Location: Washington, DC

Congressman Tom Garrett (R-VA), Member of the Homeland Security and Foreign Affairs Committees, issued the following statement on the suspected terrorist attack in New York:

"Today, we saw yet another horrific terror attack in New York City. At least 8 people have been murdered, and many more where left wounded. Our hearts go out to the families of those who were victims and those who are grieving. We stand with the people of New York in solidarity. We lift them up in prayer in the wake of this vicious attack."

"As with prior attacks on our homeland, I am troubled by the fact that this truck attack appears to be an inspired by radical Islamic terror. Enough is enough. It is time for every American -- regardless of political persuasion -- to come together and unite in defeating radical Islamic terrorist groups and their affiliates."
