Statement

Date: Dec. 10, 2016
Location: Washington, DC

U.S. Senator Bob Corker (R-Tenn.) today released the following statement after Senate passage of the Water Infrastructure Improvements for the Nation Act (S. 612), which will strengthen our nation's commerce and improve communities across the country by authorizing projects that maintain and enhance water infrastructure. The legislation will now be sent to the president's desk to be signed into law.

"Waterways in Tennessee and across our country are major economic drivers, and this bipartisan legislation will ensure our water infrastructure is maintained appropriately so that companies can continue to move goods in a timely and safe manner," said Corker. "I also am pleased this bill authorizes a flood risk reduction project at Mill Creek, which will better protect Nashville and Davidson County against future flooding."
