U.S. Senator Debbie Stabenow (D-MI) released the following statement after Senate Republicans confirmed Tom Price to be the next Secretary of Health and Human Services:

"As a leading advocate of dismantling Medicare and Medicaid and our entire healthcare system, Tom Price's policies are not in the best interest of Michigan seniors and families. That is why I voted against his nomination on the Senate floor. The decisions of the next Secretary will affect everyone and the people of Michigan expect him to make decisions in the best interests of their family as well as the larger economy, not narrow special interests."
