KENNEDY ON ADA ANNIVERSARY: WE MUST BUILD ON PROGRESS

Washington, DC: Today Senator Kennedy issued the following statement before tomorrow's anniversary of the Americans with Disabilities Act:

"The anniversary of this landmark legislation should inspire us to fight for a new Supreme Court that will support Congressional action to protect the rights of the disabled. We must build on, not retreat from, the extraordinary progress of the past 15 years, based on the fundamental promise all Americans deserve to be treated with dignity and respect and to be fully included in our society."
