Mike Gallagher Visits Local Sustainable Dairy Farm

Mike Gallagher visited Green Valley Dairy in Krakow today to tour its facility and talk with employees about issues facing Wisconsin's dairy farms. Green Valley Dairy is a first-generation dairy farm focused on environmental stewardship and sustainability.

After the tour, Mike Gallagher said, "Green Valley Dairy is an outstanding example of what Wisconsin agriculture can accomplish." Gallagher continued, "By combining exceptional business practices and an environmentally innovative approach to farming, Green Valley Dairy has become an industry leader, and we're lucky to them here in the 8th District."

Established in 2000, Green Valley Dairy has grown to 3,500 cows, three anaerobic digesters, and 8,300 acres of cropland. Green Valley Dairy is committed to maintaining sound business practices, and environmental sustainability. In 2012, Green Valley Dairy won the Outstanding Achievement in Renewable Energy Award issued by the Innovation Center for U.S. Dairy.
