Mike Gallagher Releases Statement on North Korea's Fifth Nuclear Test

Statement

Date: Sept. 9, 2016

In response to North Korea conducting its fifth nuclear test on the heels of President Obama's trip to Asia, Mike Gallagher released the following statement:

"It's no coincidence that North Korea is testing its nuclear arsenal on President Obama's last day in Asia. The Obama-Clinton policy of "strategic patience" with North Korea was merely an excuse for inaction and a part of the broader, disastrous foreign policy of leading from behind. As a result, the United States is no longer feared or respected on the world stage. The Obama Administration has failed us abroad, emboldened our enemies, and made us all less safe here at home. We cannot allow countries like China, Iran, Russia, and North Korea to push us around and threaten our allies. We need new leaders who will fight to keep America safe."
