Congressman Mica Launches First Television and Radio Campaign

Date: Oct. 11, 2016
Location: Winter Park, FL

With millions of dollars being spent falsely attacking his record, Mica is launching his first television and radio advertising in the 2016 campaign focused on his lifetime of service to helping our veterans.

"People are sick of all the negative attacks in this election cycle, much of it perpetrated by Washington Democrats who want to buy this seat," Mica says. "We've decided to focus on real people and positive stories in our campaign."

Mica has long been an advocate for Veterans. His efforts resulted in the Veterans Administrations building a new hospital at Lake Nona. In addition, he was responsible for the VA to repurpose its Baldwin Park campus, passing legislation in near record time to transfer the ownership of the facility to the state to expedite needed renovations.

Joy's Story showcases how Mica helped Joy Roney and her husband, Louie, receive help through the Veteran's Administration. Louie, a World War II veteran, requires around the clock care. After reaching out to Mica's office, the Roneys received the necessary resources to provide care.

It's a story that is repeated thousands of times by veterans across Central Florida that have reached out to Mica's office for help.

"My father died in a crowded VA hospital and, since I was first elected, veterans have been a priority in everything I do," Mica says. "If the voters chose to allow me to continue to serve them, I'll be focused on ensuring Lake Baldwin's facilities are opened quickly and veterans throughout Central Florida get the care they need."
