Patrick Murphy Addresses State and National AFL-CIO Leaders

Press Release

Date: Oct. 1, 2016
Location: West Palm Beach, FL

This morning, Patrick Murphy addressed AFL-CIO state and national leaders at a breakfast in West Palm Beach. The AFL-CIO represents over a million workers, retirees, and their families in Florida and has endorsed Patrick Murphy in Florida's U.S. Senate race.

"I'm so proud to have the AFL-CIO standing with me in this campaign and grateful for their hard working members across our state," said Rep. Murphy. "This election is critical for Florida families. We need a Senator who will stand with the AFL-CIO to grow Florida's economy by putting our middle class first. That means raising the minimum wage, achieving equal pay for equal work, and protecting Social Security and Medicare for our seniors.

"For the past six years, Marco Rubio has failed to show up for Florida. He refuses to fight for Florida's middle class families. That's why it's so important that we get out the vote this November. With strong grassroots support from the AFL-CIO and Florida's unions, I'm confident that we will win this election and make real progress for Florida families in the U.S. Senate."
