Issue Position

Barbara has been a strong advocate for senior citizens in many ways. She believes that seniors have worked hard to build our state and they deserve to retire with dignity. She has supported tax reform, urging progressive taxes rather than the regressive property tax that unduly burden seniors on a fixed income. She sponsored and voted for the Enhanced STAR Program for property tax relief for seniors and supported critical programs such as EPIC to help with the costs of medications upon which seniors, especially, rely.

She has also fought for funding for the County Office for Aging, which provides counseling and assistance for seniors.
