The Corpus Christi International Airport has been awarded a Department of Transportation grant to install perimeter fencing at the airport.

"This grant will provide funding to the Corpus Christi International Airport allowing them to proceed on installing needed perimeter fencing that will increase security and safety," Congressman Blake Farenthold said. "The airport plays a key role in serving the transportation needs of the Coastal Bend. Over 700,000 people a year fly via Corpus Christi International Airport."
