Lisa Launches First Television Ad in Congressional Campaign

Press Release

The Lisa Blunt Rochester for Congress campaign today started airing the first ad in the primary election, "Faces," to highlight how Lisa's personal experience have shaped her values and the priorities she will fight for in Congress.

In the ad, Lisa talks about her experiences using Wilmington's Planned Parenthood clinic for her own healthcare needs and the need to stand up for women's access to quality healthcare even though Republicans in Congress want to take us backwards.

Blunt Rochester said, "I've talked during this campaign about the need to 'Do Different.' Perhaps there is no issue in which a different approach is needed more than women's healthcare. The Republican majority in Congress wants to shut down Planned Parenthood and reduce access to women's health clinics. This is not a 'women's issue' -- this is an issue that matters to a lot of Democrats in Delaware. As our next Member of Congress, I will bring my personal experience with Planned Parenthood and equal pay to the floor of the House."

The ad started airing statewide today on broadcast and cable TV.

Transcript of "Faces":

Blunt Rochester: Growing up in Wilmington, I visited this Planned Parenthood clinic.

Thousands of women benefit from their cancer screenings.

But too many politicians in Washington want to take us back to the 1950s.

I'm Lisa Blunt Rochester and I approve this message because if we want real change in Washington, if we want real progress on equal pay and healthcare, we need new leaders in Congress.

Announcer: Lisa Blunt Rochester, a strong voice for Delaware.

Lisa is a former Delaware Secretary of Labor and State Personnel Director. She is running for Congress to replace the open Congressional seat being vacated by Rep. John Carney.
