The Legislature's Joint Revenue Interim Committee decision to draft bills to tax wind energy last week is a great example of their planning for the past -- Wyoming already has one of the highest wind energy taxes in the nation. This is the kind of thinking that has already pushed Wyoming to it's current budget crisis.

Other states are reaping the benefits of pro-renewable energy policies that are bringing billions of dollars worth of investment into their states. In 2015 two-thirds of all new electric generating capacity was wind or solar -- by not enacting policies that encourage this type of investment and ignoring the current economic realities Wyoming policy makers are cheating Wyoming citizens out of a stabile economic future.
