Price Statement on Benghazi Report

Statement

Date: June 28, 2016
Location: Washington, DC

Congressman Tom Price, M.D. (GA-06) issued the following statement after the Select Committee on Benghazi released its report on the September 11, 2012 terrorist attacks in Libya that took the lives of Ambassador Chris Stevens, Sean Smith, Glen Doherty and Tyrone Woods.

"This investigation by the Select Committee on Benghazi has brought to light failures on the part of our government to provide adequate security in preparation for a potential attack or to respond in a timely and appropriate manner to protect the lives of its citizens. It shows the Obama Administration's shameful attempt, in the wake of this tragedy, to place political priorities ahead of an honest accounting to the American people about what happened and why. The fundamental failure of President Obama and his administration to understand the consequences of their inept lead-from-behind foreign policy has costs lives and contributed to instability and a proliferation of threats to America's national security. Chairman Gowdy and his colleagues are to be commended for conducting this investigation with the seriousness and sincerity owed to the brave Americans who lost their lives serving our nation."
