Lance Statement on Release of Proposed Benghazi Report

Statement

Date: June 28, 2016
Location: Washington, DC

Congressman Leonard Lance (NJ-07) released the following statement after the U.S. House Select Committee on Benghazi issued an initial report on the terrorist attack on the United States Consulate in Benghazi, Libya:

"The terrorist attack by radical Islamists on our consulate in Benghazi took the lives of four brave Americans: Chris Stevens, Sean Smith, Glen Doherty and Tyrone Woods. It was in their memory and service that the U.S. House voted to convene this panel charged with getting to the truth on what happened the night of September 11, 2012. This substantive report presents new information and evidence that every American should take the time to read and understand. It raises serious questions about the Obama Administration's retelling of events both before and after the attack and makes important recommendations aimed at strengthening security for American personnel serving abroad. In the coming weeks the final report will come before Congress and I will join my colleagues in a rigorous review of all the information."
