Location: Mayville, ND

U.S. Senator Heidi Heitkamp announced $112,056 in federal funding to help veterans find permanent housing.

"We have an obligation to make sure veterans returning to civilian life have the resources to readjust and meet their basic needs," said Heitkamp. "This federal funding will work with veterans to identify those most in need of housing so they are able to put a roof over their heads and move forward with their lives."

The federal funds are distributed as follows:

Williston Housing Authority - $46,200

Burleigh County Housing Authority - $37,200

Minot Housing Authority - $28,656

These federal funds are made available through the combined effort of the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) and the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) through their joint HUD-Veterans Affairs Supportive Housing (HUD-VASH) Program. The HUD-VASH program works to reduce veteran homelessness by providing both support services and housing assistance to find and keep them in their homes.
