Issue Position: Religious Liberty

Issue Position

Religious liberty must be protected, especially in light of recent judicial rulings in favor of same sex marriages. Kentucky must pass comprehensive laws to ensure that each Kentuckian's right to religious liberty is not infringed. There is a no more sacred right than the right to hold and practice a religious belief. While Kentucky affords some protection, existing laws must be comprehensively examined especially in light of recent federal judicial opinions setting aside Kentucky's constitutional ban against same sex marriage. As the federal government quietens the voices of Kentucky voters, laws must be passed to ensure that the religious voice of each individual is not limited to only home and church but rather remains available in all aspects of life.
