Beyer Welcomes Signing Of Paris Climate Agreement

Congressman Don Beyer expressed his strong approval of the Paris Agreement, signed today as part of a celebration of Earth Day in a ceremony in New York City.

"The Paris Agreement contains the kind of bold action needed to address climate change," said Rep. Don Beyer. "Climate change represents the most significant threat to future generations. Our commitment today is crucial to the safety and wellbeing of the planet."
Congressman Beyer signed a bicameral letter from Members of Congress expressing thanks to President Obama for his leadership on climate change, and supporting his decision to have the United States sign the document on Earth Day, the first day on which it is open for signatures.
