Fighting Back Against Illegal Immigration

Statement

"Today, I voted to stand with 26 states that are fighting back against President Obama's unlawful and, in my opinion, unconstitutional actions regarding illegal immigration. The fight of these states has made it all the way to the Supreme Court. President Obama is flagrantly violating his Constitutional obligation to "faithfully execute" existing immigration law. Following this vote, Speaker Paul Ryan will be filing a brief on behalf of the whole House in support of the 26 states and vigorously defending the Constitutional power of Congress to make the laws of the land. It is very important to the future of co-equal branches of government that the Supreme Court resolve this issue in favor of Congress."
