Rep. Farenthold Statement on Wharton Disaster Declaration

Press Release

Date: May 3, 2016
Location: Washington, DC

Congressman Blake Farenthold (TX-27) today applauded the decision to add Wharton County to FEMA's federal disaster relief funding for the flooding damage the area received from April 17, 2016, through April 24, 2016. Homeowners and business owners can now apply for grants for temporary housing and low-cost loans to rebuild property that was damaged in the floods.

"Now that a team from FEMA and the state of Texas has surveyed the damage, it has been determined that Wharton County qualifies for federal assistance," Congressman Farenthold said. "This is a difficult time for many families and this will help them find temporary shelter and reopen their doors."
