Gov. Rick Snyder today announced the appointment of Jeffrey Sykes of Williamston to the city of Ecorse Receivership Transition Advisory Board.

The board was created in April of 2013 after the city's financial emergency was resolved and the City of Ecorse transitioned back to local control.

"I am confident that Jeffrey will work in conjunction with local leaders to ensure continued financial stability in the city of Ecorse," Snyder said.

Sykes is the chief financial officer for the Michigan State Housing Development Authority. He holds a bachelor's degree in finance from Michigan State University. He will represent the state treasurer and fills the vacancy created by the resignation of Edward Koryzno.

Other members of the City of Ecorse RTAB are: Robert Bovitz, representing the Director of the Department of Technology, Management, and Budget, and Joan Brophy, representing individuals with relevant professional experience. Members serve at the pleasure of the governor.
