Congressman Marsha Blackburn (R-TN) released the following statement following the House's vote to override the President's veto of H.R. 3762, the Restoring Americans' Healthcare Freedom Act. H.R. 3762 was the first broad repeal of Obamacare that was sent to the president's desk and included a one year moratorium on federal funds for the country's largest abortion provider, Planned Parenthood.

"In multiple instances, the Obama administration has neglected to consider the American peoples individual choices when it pertains to healthcare. House Republicans started 2016 with a renewed push to repeal the President's signature failed healthcare law -- and Congress sent that policy straight to the President's desk. The President's veto of this legislation was another sign he is out of touch with the American people.

"The American people have asked for patient-centered, affordable healthcare -- not big government and more unfunded mandates. They don't want their healthcare plan to be chosen by Washington bureaucrats. That is why we continued our push to override his veto so we can replace this flawed law with legislation that is structured on the principles of affordability, accessibility and choice.

"We must continue to act on behalf of our constituents and move common-sense solutions to the President's desk," Blackburn said.
