Pittenger: Life is Precious, Let us Cherish Each and Every One

Statement

Today, Congressman Pittenger voted to shift federal funding from controversial abortion provider Planned Parenthood to a much larger network of community health clinics, and to impose tougher penalties on anyone who attempts to murder little babies born alive during an abortion.

"How can anyone defend the sale of a little baby's body parts? Why should federal taxpayers support organizations that rob little ones of their right to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness?" asked Congressman Pittenger during debate prior to the vote.

"The character of our Nation is at stake. We must restore the value and sanctity of every life and fight back against these unfathomable acts. Life is precious. Let's cherish each and every one."

The Defund Planned Parenthood Act (H.R. 3134), co-sponsored by Congressman Pittenger, passed the U.S. House by a bipartisan vote of 241-187. The Born-Alive Abortion Survivors Protection Act (H.R. 3504), also co-sponsored by Congressman Pittenger, passed the U.S. House by a bipartisan vote of 248-177.
