Governor Ducey today announced the appointment of Kristin Culbertson to the Maricopa County Superior Court.

"Kris is an experienced employment lawyer and outstanding public servant," said Governor Ducey. "Her specialized expertise -- coupled with a strong commitment to the rule of law -- will be a welcome and valuable asset to the bench. I'm confident she will serve the citizens of Maricopa County faithfully and with integrity."

Kris is a shareholder at the law firm of Littler Mendelson. She practices in a variety of labor and employment matters arising under federal and state law, including those involving harassment, discrimination, retaliation, unfair competition, trade secrets, employee privacy and public pensions. Kris has extensive trial experience in Arizona courts and throughout the country. Kris previously served as a judicial law clerk to Judge Paul Rosenblatt of the United States District Court for the District of Arizona.

Kris is an active member of Littler Mendelson's Women's Leadership Initiative. She also provides pro bono legal services to a non-profit organization that helps indigent pregnant women secure resources and education, and to a faith-based charity that helps pregnant women and new mothers.

Kris graduated summa cum laude from Arizona State University in 1998, with a Bachelor of Arts in Communication. She received her law degree from Arizona State University College of Law in 2000.

Kris Culbertson's appointment to the Maricopa County Superior Court was made to fill the vacancy created by the resignation of Judge Joseph Sciarrotta, Jr.
