My Patience Ran Out

Press Release

Date: Sept. 30, 2015
Location: Washington, DC

Congressman Tom Marino (PA-10) issued the following statement after voting against a Continuing Resolution to fund the federal government through December 11, 2015:

"For too long the rules governing the House have forced me to choose between funding this government's core responsibilities like defense, which I believe are in our core interests, and at the same time with the same vote, fund organizations like Planned Parenthood and spend money we simply do not have. Today I have had enough.

With a new day looming for the House, it is time we lead by example and really get serious about doing things differently. My vote today was the right thing to do. The CR passed anyway but sometimes we have to take a stand even when we know we may come up short.

We have averted a shutdown but now is the time to really get down to business and move forward on a multitude of bills to get America moving again."
