Congressman Young Shares Message in Advance of Veterans Day

Statement

In advance of Veterans Day, Alaska Congressman Don Young today shared the following message in celebration of our nation's veterans:

"As we celebrate Veterans Day, the 11th day of the 11th month, I take pause to reflect on the great gift of freedom our men and women in uniform have given this nation. Throughout our history, our armed forces have proudly served and sacrificed in defense of freedom, liberty and justice. It is because of their valiant efforts -- their commitment to a cause much greater than their own -- that we live in peace and safety today.

"I wholeheartedly thank our Veterans, including the 71,000 who call Alaska home, for the freedom and opportunity they have bestowed upon this nation. We will never forget the sacrifices they made, and the physical and emotional toll they endured, when answering the call of duty.

"I encourage all Americans to join me in thanking our remarkable Veterans. We are forever indebted to them for their service."
