Menendez, Booker Announce $2.1 M for Sandy Recovery in Trenton

U.S. Senators Bob Menendez and Cory Booker today announced the New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection has been awarded $2.1 million in federal Sandy Recovery funding to purchase and install a permanent generator to provide emergency backup power at the Department's Data Center in Trenton. The funds are provided through the Department of Homeland Security's Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA).

"More than three years after Superstorm Sandy, we're still working to repair, recover and most importantly, to rebuild stronger and more resilient than before," said Sen. Menendez. "This grant will help ensure the state's critical data centers -- like this one in Trenton -- stay online before, during and after the next big storm."

$2,100,930.00 in FEMA funding toward $2.8 million total project cost. This grant will fund the purchase and installation of one permanent 1750 kw diesel fuel powered generator to supply emergency backup power prior, during, and after severe weather events at the Department of Environmental Protection Data Center in Trenton, Mercer County, NJ.
