Gov. Shumlin Statement on Rejection of Keystone Pipeline

Statement

Date: Nov. 6, 2015
Location: Montpelier, VT

Gov. Peter Shumlin issued the following statement after President Obama rejected the proposed Keystone XL Pipeline today.

"Despite what some say, climate change is real and is in large part caused by human activity. But humans also have the capacity to do something about it. President Obama showed that today by rejecting this ill-conceived and dangerous project. For seven years, the Keystone XL Pipeline has represented a turning point in the battle between climate change deniers and those fighting to preserve our planet for future generations. Now that this project has been rejected, it's also time to reject those who deny climate change. It's time to move forward and work together to ensure a livable planet for our kids and grandkids."
