Press Release

Date: Nov. 11, 2015
Location: Charleston, SC

U.S. Senator Tim Scott (R-SC) issued the following statement in honor of Veterans Day:

"Today we remember and honor the sacrifice of our country's brave veterans. Over 22 million men and women have worn our nation's uniform and put their lives on the line for the cause of freedom. Their dedication will never be forgotten.

"In South Carolina, we are blessed with a strong community of nearly 400,000 veterans in every corner of our state. While we pause to remember their work, we must also recommit ourselves to fulfilling the promises our country has made to our veterans -- because they deserve nothing less.

"With two brothers in the military, I know firsthand the sacrifices our veterans and their families have made in order to protect and serve our amazing country. Their bravery, allegiance, and heroism make me proud to be an American.

"May God bless each of our courageous veterans - past and present -- and their families. These are true American heroes, and we should continue to honor them today and every day."
