Scalise Criticizes EPA's Final Ozone Regulation, Most Expensive Ever

Statement

Congressman Steve Scalise (R-La.) today released the following statement after the Obama Administration's Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) released its finalized plans to significantly regulate ozone emission standards across the country:

"Louisiana's energy and manufacturing industries provide vital economic impact and a lifeline to this sluggish economy," Rep. Scalise said. "The EPA's final radical ozone regulation could cost Louisiana billions of dollars in growth and lost tax receipts as well as thousands of good paying jobs. Make no mistake: this will be the costliest regulation ever. It is despicable that unelected bureaucrats in Washington are preventing new manufacturing facilities from being built and are raising the cost of doing business, especially when so many Americans are in need of jobs. I will continue fighting these extreme decisions by President Obama's EPA so that taxpayers and business owners are protected from further suffering."
