Reed Announces Grant for First Responders Across Cattaraugus County

Tom Reed announced that seven fire departments across Cattaraugus County will receive a total grant of $593,353 to collectively improve their communications systems making the departments more effective when responding to emergency situations. The grant is part of the Assistance to Firefighters Grant Program awarded through the Department of Homeland Security and Federal Emergency Management Agency.

"These grants are a great way to keep our emergency services personnel well equipped without passing a heavy burden onto local tax payers," said Reed. "I care about ensuring our local fire departments have the resources they need to continue doing a great job of keeping us safe."

The seven departments include Otto, East Otto, Great Valley, Ellicottville, Humphrey, West Valley Mansfield and Ellicottville/Great Valley Ambulance.
