Senator Thune Comments on President Bush's Inaugural

January 20th, 2005 - Washington D.C. - "President Bush's inauguration today is an opportunity for all Americans to come together to celebrate our democracy. I look forward to working with him on many of the issues facing our state and nation. The President's speech appropriately paid tribute to our men and women in uniform who are courageously defending freedom around the world. Even as we celebrate here at home today our thoughts and prayers go out to the thousands of Americans defending freedom."

"I am pleased to see so many South Dakotans here this week celebrating freedom and taking in the festivities. It was an honor to meet with the NSU Marching Band and host several hundred South Dakotans at this morning's South Dakota breakfast."
