Spearfish To Be Capital For A Day

Gov. Dennis Daugaard has chosen Spearfish to be South Dakota's Capital for a Day on Wednesday, Sept. 9.

"I look forward to spending the day in Spearfish, and thank community leaders for offering to host Capital For A Day," Gov. Daugaard said. "It's an excellent opportunity for me to become better acquainted with the people of Spearfish and more informed about the issues affecting the Spearfish community."

The Governor's activities for the day will include a main street walk, business tours around town and a community social. The Governor will also hold a roundtable lunch to discuss local issues with community leaders.

"Spearfish is honored to host the Governor, First Lady and staff for the day. We are looking forward to showcasing the strengths of the city, the successes of its people and the opportunities in front of us," said Mayor Dana Boke.
