Heitkamp Announces Significant Federal Funding for Colon Cancer Research at NDSU

U.S. Senator Heidi Heitkamp today announced more than $345,000 in federal funding to North Dakota State University for scientific research on the possible impact of RNA therapeutics for targeted treatment of colon cancer.

"Cancer is a tragic and heart breaking disease that affects families and communities all across North Dakota," said Heitkamp. "These funds will give the talented folks at NDSU the opportunity to contribute to the field of biomedical research as well as look for possible treatments for colon cancer -- efforts that have the potential to help save countless lives."

These funds are authorized by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services National Cancer Institute.
