Issue Position

Obama's war on coal is nothing short of a war on Montana. If new EPA rules on carbon emissions are implemented as currently proposed, they will be disastrous for the state. Not only would they cause our electricity rates to rise by some 30 percent, they would result in a crippling of the Montana coal industry. This unconstitutional federal overreach demands a strong and carefully coordinated response from the states which are similarly impacted. It is essential that we elect a governor who is committed to joining that fight on the front lines.
