My top priorities would be 1) steering federal education dollars to the districts and early development programs for disadvantaged children; 2) reducing deficits so that our prospects for long term fiscal prosperity are increased; and 3) delivering a real prescription drug benefit for seniors. Funding the first and last will require fiscal austerity in other areas of the budget and will require asking those corporations that continually avoid taxation to pay their fair share.
