Georgia State Legislative Election 2018 Political Courage Test

This is a subject that should be decided by the parties involved with advice and counsel from those they trust. If you feel that a woman does not have a right to make this decision for herself then you should be equally ready to take responsibility, financially and otherwise, for the decision you want to force her to make.

Georgia law requires a balanced budget. A large portion is for education, transportation, healthcare and maintenace of the infrastructure, waterways, parks and wildlife. I also think it is appropriate to use tax money to support social services for those in need and/or mentally incapacitated. Public funds in support of economic development, the arts and technological advancement for the public good, should also be on the table for discussion,

Campaign reform is needed but we should be making it easier for people to vote. Current technology allows for greater flexibility. You should be able to go to a polling place, provide proof of your address and then receive a ballot for that ID and address. Ballot tabulation should be in the presence of representatives of those on the ballot. There should be regulations to limit the amount of influence corporations can have on elections.

Since there is always the possibility of someone being convicted of a crime they did not commit I don't think death is an appropriate punishment. I don't think marijuana should be legal but I think the penalties for possession and use should be fines, community service and not jail time. A child should not be treated as an adult but the penalty for the crime should be treated according to the severity of the crime.

State spending for economic growth should be simple math. If the state investment is going to yield a return greater than the investment it should be considered. There should be a regular review of state regulations and when the regulation is no longer needed it should be removed. Likewise, if something is out of control and requires regulation to maintain fairness and stability it should be instituted.

c) Should immigrants unlawfully present in the United States who graduate from Georgia high schools be eligible for in-state tuition at public universities?
Every child in the country should have access to the best possible education no matter where they live. As such there should be some basic federal laws to insure that. However, states should have the ability to provide additional initiatives to satisfy local needs. The regulation of charter schools should be left to the local elected school boards. Charter schools are public schools and should be treated as such.

Gun ownership should also come with the responsibility of gun safety. Those that have demonstrated a lack of that responsibility should not have access to guns. Those that have been diagnosed with mental limitations that make them unable to be responsible should not have access. This is a topic that requires more than 100 words but I would be happy to discuss this with anyone that would like to talk about it.

If the faith-based organization is using public funds to provide a service it should not be denied to anyone.
I would like to see a review of the way state contracts are granted. There needs to be more contracts and spending with minority owned businesses, woman owned businesses and small businesses. There should be a prohibition on guns being made on 3D printers. Election laws should allow for easier access to voting.
