Ohio has a range of taxes no mentioned here including the CAT tax, Financial Institutions tax and Severence tax. The total tax burden in Ohio is too high and a complete overhaul of the tax system is required. In general, we must redusce taxes in Ohio to be competetive.
We must reduce overhead costs at public universities and the collective bargaining rights of State employees must be redefined to ensure the public good. The reduction in pension benefits is being recommended by all 5 state pension fund Boards to ensure long term solvency of the existing Pension Plans.

Ohio needs to reduce taxes and fund less, in total, not more. We must allow a regulated free enterprise system to increase total wealth in society not spend time and resources on redistribution. If more total wealth is created, all members of society benefit. We must reform Ohio's public education system that is failing our children. Spending on education is an investment in the future, supporting an ineffective system in terms of student achievement is a waste of scarce resources.
