Priority Issues:
These are some of the issues on which I'm running:
* Favors public campaign finance laws
* Favors lowering of property and sales tax, and eventually eliminating property taxes and replacing them with a personal income tax
* Favors reinstating revenue sharing and restoring the pre 1972 tax level brackets
* Favors a progressive tax giving a higher tax bracket to the wealthy and a tax break for the lower to middle income earners
* Favors raising the state minimum wage to $15/hr
* Favors free education from day care through universities/vocational schools.
* Favors single payer, universal health care coverage -- Medicare for All
* Favors legalization of marijuana
* Opposes hydraulic fracturing (fracking) and favors a total statewide ban
How will we pay for all this? New York State already has a stock transfer tax with which Wall Street and the banks get rebates every year. Eliminate these rebates and New York State would keep $12-15 billion per year.
