During my graduate work, I was awarded two Rackham Graduate Fellowships, and in 2003, I was a recipient of the Fannie Mae Foundation Fellowship, completing the "Senior Executives in State and Local Government" program conducted by the John F. Kennedy School of Government at Harvard University (Cambridge, Massachusetts). The fellowship at KSG included training by the Joint Center for Housing Studies at Harvard. I was the recipient of the Salute Award, presented by the Flint/Genesee Job Corps Center in 1997 and the Distinguished Public Service Award, presented by the Public Administration Faculty of U of M Flint and the Flint-Saginaw Valley Chapter of the American Society for Public Administration in 1995.
