Priority Issues:
My top priorities as your legislator in District 85 will include finding definitive answers to our water issues, in particular alleviation of the current pollution problems stemming from the Everglades and Lake Okeechobee. As a centrist business-oriented Democrat and an environmentalist, I believe the current situation this summer is grossly unfair to our coastal businesses catering to tourists and our residents enjoying the benefits of our natural treasures. This can has been kicked down the road for way too long. We must address the reality of climate change, we must continue to fight offshore and nearshore drilling in Florida, we must eliminate fracking in the Everglades, we must take action on rising sea levels and we must get the real job done of protecting our coastal environment, starting today.
Reason for Seeking Public Office:
I'm running for State House because it's time the people of our community have a voice in their government. Rather than giving big handouts to large corporations, it's time we focus on supporting our local small businesses to create good-paying jobs here in Palm Beach County. We need to address the growing healthcare needs of Floridians and expand access to affordable healthcare for everyone. Let's also stop burying our heads in the sand and enact meaningful policies that address the looming threat of climate change on our coastal communities.
