Reason for Seeking Public Office:

I was taught from an early age the importance of serving my community. I've spent my life working to make people's lives better.

Now, I'm running for Congress because times are tough and Nevadans are worried -- about their jobs, homes, children, and retirements. As a wife and mother, I share these concerns and understand what families are going through.

I am product of Nevada's unique culture. The people who built Southern Nevada saw great casinos and businesses where others just saw sand. My paternal grandfather, who was a sixth grade-educated, depression era shoe salesman, saw Southern Nevada as a land of opportunity for a small businessman. My maternal grandfather, who was a blackjack dealer at the Sahara, saw Southern Nevada as a good place to raise his family. They both knew achieving success was going to take work. They were right then, and nothing has really changed. They never let other people's limits hinder them, and neither have I.

Our country is at a crossroads and Washington is not working. Despite our great challenges, Washington is ignoring job creation and ignoring our middle class.

Southern Nevada deserves a representative who will always put people ahead of politics. As your voice in Washington, I'll work to make government accountable to you. It's time to focus on what's important: rebuilding our economy and strengthening our middle class. We need someone with vision who can come up with new ideas to change a broken system...and to turn those ideas into reality. There is no one who will work as hard as I will for Nevada, the home I love so much.

I look forward to meeting you on the campaign trail, hearing your stories, and working together to change Washington.
