Favorite President and Why:
My favorite president was Ronald Reagan who never took himself too seriously. Yet, he respected the office he held and the people he served. Ending the cold war without war, he displayed the courage of his convictions.
Reason for Seeking Public Office:
I grew up and raised a family here in a free New Hampshire. Perhaps that is why I am dismayed and alarmed by the kind of change that has taken place in our home state within the past four years. Lawmakers seem determined to impose on NH citizens more government regulation, higher taxes, out-of-control spending, irresponsible borrowing, and social policy out of line with public opinion. I have spent countless hours fighting our government representatives and bureaucrats who represent their own parochial interest and ignore the majority of public opinion, facts and common sense. The Democratic Party is out of touch with our citizens, bringing change that has outpaced our imagination, much less our consent. People need to be heard again in Concord.
