Favorite President and Why:

George Washington is my favorite president. He was a man of integrity. He did not seek the office of president. He reluctantly accepted the position when chosen by the electors. He was a man of courage. He demonstrated this many times in both the French Indian War and the Revolutionary War. On many occasions he was miraculously protected. He was a prayerful man. He recognized our dependence on God.

Priority Issues:

The purpose of government is to protect our God-given rights of life, liberty, and property. This will be my guide as I consider legislation.
I. Life: I will stand firm on the right to life giving a voice to the unborn and treating the elderly with dignity and respect.
II. Liberty: A. Promoting a free market system by eliminating burdensome government regulation. Having an environment that is friendly to entrepreneurs is essential. B. Supporting laws that preserve parents' rights to choose between public, private, or home education. Recognizing that parents are accountable to God, not the state, in raising their children. C. Keeping local police free from federal control. Educating them in Constitutional principles so they protect the citizens' rights. D. Right to bear arms: An armed citizenry is a safer citizenry.
III. Property: A. Refusing to support programs that take the possessions of one (through taxes) to give to another. Taking care of those who are unable to care for themselves through private organizations such as churches and voluntary giving. B. Eliminating property tax once you hold the title. Doing away with restrictions on what you are able to do with your property as long as it does not adversely affect a neighbor.

Reason for Seeking Public Office:

It is not to feather my own nest. I do not have a business for which I am seeking perks. I do not work for the state. I do not have conflicts of interest. I am running because the flame of liberty burns within my heart. I am deeply concerned at the growth of our state government. It is encroaching into our personal lives.
