Title: Requiring Photo Identification to Vote
Vote to pass a bill that requires individuals intending to vote to present a form of photo identification at the polling place, or cast a provisional ballot that is counted only if the individual presents a form of photo identification to the Board of Voter Registration prior to certification by the County Board of Canvassers beginning January 1, 2010.
- Requires individuals intending to vote to present a South Carolina driver's license, other form of identification containing a photograph issued by the Department of Motor Vehicles, U.S. passport, or military identification card issued by the federal government (Sec. 1). - Eliminates the $5 fee required to obtain a special identification card (Sec. 4).
