Title: Comprehensive Nuclear Test-Ban Treaty
Vote to ratify the Comprehensive Nuclear Test-Ban Treaty that would require 44 countries that have nuclear power plants or nuclear research reactors to ban nuclear weapons testing six months after the treaty is ratified.
- Establishes an international monitoring system and a system of low-warning inspections.
- Allows nations to remove themselves from the pact if it is in their national interest.
- Calls for sanctions against nations that fail to comply with the treaty.
